I have had a handful of senseis in my Kendo training.  Most of them keep a definite invisible line between themselves and their students, for valid reasons such as deference and other individual reasons.  Sensei YT Kim is a very personable teacher.  With him you can be friendly, joke around and be very personable.  I've never seen that before.  You have to see him in natural action with the children; he is like their best friend.  But be careful when you put your helmet on and face this modern-day Samurai and he becomes a roaring lion.  He uses the shinai like a part of his body so intuitively that comes after practing the art for over 37 yrs (7th Dan) and having majored in Kendo in S. Korea.  He is the best kendoka I have seen in 12yrs of my personal training.  Sensei Ryu is also a force to recken with.  Don't be fooled by his 5th Dan because he easily outfences other 6th Dans I have come across.  I love our kendo dojo, YKK, fighting!

I personally recommend this Kumdo place.  US Yong Kum Kwan Masters knows how to teach the Kumdo right way and fun.  Kumdo helps you to get healthier body and mind.
